Crip Pride Enamel Pin is inspired by Chromium, the chemical element with the symbol Cr and atomic number 24. The Pride Flag colors are stripes of green, yellow, white, red, and blue against a black background.
Disclaimer:
Crip is a slur reclaimed by people with disabilities on purpose as an act of empowerment and pride.
As a mobility aid user, disabled and chronically ill, I have wanted to include Crip Representation to the Queer Chemistry Project for a really long time. Disability and Queer Studies have shared historic spaces and grassroots together. Today, there are many of us who live with multiple identities.
The Crip Pride / Chromium is not per se queer (as polyamorous or kinky, already included in the series) but exists in the project to include and give visibility to crip queer who needs it.
